Canadian Immigration: The Most Awaited GOOD NEWS: The Federal Skilled Worker Draws have now begun after a freezing period of 19 months. Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada conducted the Express Entry draw on July 6th 2022 and issued 1500 Invitations to Candidates who had put in their applications before November 13th 2021 at 02:20:46 UTC. Tie- breaking rule was applied. The selected candidates were required to have a minimum score criteria of Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 557 or higher. The All-program draw conducted on July 6th considered every candidate in the Express Entry pool rather than being program specific and invited candidates for permanent residency based on their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, unprecedented occasions, backlog of applications since March 2020, the application processing timelines have exceeded to over 4 times – 26 months in comparison to the standard processing timelines of 6 months prior to COVID-19. Of course, IRCC is working towards lowering these processing timelines to 6 months – standard timelines and are expected to achieve this by the end of 2022. The Canadian Economy added nearly 39,800 job vacancies in May 2022 which has facilitated in generating great employment opportunities for the skilled new comers.
