Since the past few years there has been a steady increase in the number of Temporary visas in Australia. As per recent data it has been constant at 240,000 over a year, which shows an interesting combination of permanent and temporary visa being issued to support Australian Immigration.
On 1 March 2019 the Australian Minister for Immigration has announced the commencement of the Sponsored Parent (Temporary) Visa – subclass 870. It is for parents and step-parents. It is a welcome addition to the group of Visitor Visas available – subclass 600 Tourist-visa, subclass 600 Family-sponsored Visitor visa, etc.
